ordered viewsonic vfm1530-11 15-inch high resolution digital frame from amazon but the seller was [...].

frame arrived with the back of the upper left corner chipped, a very visible defect. [...] said it didn’t have a replacement for it and offered a full refund (and free return postage). as a compromise, asked [...] for a discount (on account of the defect) to be decided at its discretion and was pleased to accept it when $20 was offered. tested the frame and noted what appeared to be 7 or 8 dead pixels. decided not to keep the frame and asked [...] for a full refund. [...] readily agreed and emailed instructions to print out the return postage/labels. too lazy to return it and to find another frame, decided to look at the frame again. on a closer inspection of the “dead pixels”, suspected they might be dirt/dust/lint particles lodged between the glass and the screen. unscrewed to remove the frame and suspicion was confirmed. cleaned the backside of the glass and the screen and the “dead pixels” were gone. but there are 2 tiny specs of scratches on the screen (they had been there before cleaning was done) that aren’t visible in operation mode.

5 stars to [...] for prompt replies to questions/inquiries and for willingness to offer discount and to take back the product.

4 stars to the frame for the chipped corner, the 2 tiny scratches and the dust particles on the screen.

it’s worth it.

This was my third digital frame that I had tried. The others either had poor picture quality or would not allow you to create folders for your photos. This one does it all and the picture quality is amazing. The one minus: it does not have a random mode.

This is an excellent example of a great product being ruined by the world’s worst deliver system. My first frame was shipped in the box that is found on a retail store shelf. Opening the box, I found that the glass front of the frame was shattered. The first replacement arrived in a packing box with so little packing paper that inner box could shift around freely. The front glass of this frame was simply cracked in half. The second replacement was shipped in the same manner as the original order and the front glass was shattered. I’ve taken a refund. I don’t think buying a digital frame should entail getting to first name recognition with the UPS deliveryman.

There is a clear reason why some digital photo frames are more expensive than others. I refused to buy those brand names that you have never heard of when it comes to digital photo frames, especially considering I was mounting mine on a wall with the wires fished inside the wall. With all that hard work, I really wanted to stick with a name brand. ViewSonic has been around for a while and are known for quality products, especially their projectors and LCD screens. This unit has a simple menu and a fantastic piture that is really bright even in a well lit room. You can power the unit on and off with the remote. It plays mp3′s and videos. The calander and alarm clock features are also pretty cool, but dont seem practical. People tend to buy photo frames to display photos, not a calander. I jhave had mine running for 4 days now without any glitches.

I bought this frame for a Christmas present and am very glad I did. I was always skeptical of photo frames and this fram took away all doubts about them. The frames appearance is beautiful and full featured. I rated the product 5 stars and the only negative I would have to say about it is that you do not have the ability to change which song is being played while in slideshow mode. I highly recomend this product for photo frame buyers.
